Are You Ready For Action?
When we put off new ideas and challenges, many times it means one thing – we are afraid. We are afraid of looking foolish, afraid of failure, afraid of the commitment, sometimes even afraid of succeeding.
As adults, we let that “rational” voice speak to us about what’s proper, what’s appropriate, and on and on, generating enough fear to keep us from finding new teachers and learning new lessons. And while Willingness is critical to begin the process of learning, it is really Action that we must take each day to ingrain a new behavior.
If we seek to reduce stress and build a life of peace, joy and balance, then we must take Action in the form of steps forward each day.
In The Daily Six, I quote a friend as telling me “John you can’t think yourself into a new way of acting but you can act yourself into a new way of thinking.
It’s not how you feel; it’s not what you need; it’s not what you want. It’s all about what you DO. I did a video about fear and change, and I think it still holds true today….
Overall, it’s all about Action.
Each day I ask myself two questions:
1. What do I want?
2. What action am I taking today to move me toward what I want? It’s not important how big or small the step, it just matters that I take it.
For your success, I recommend taking Action on your life goals everyday. They need to be clear and present in your mind.
Be confident that each step you take moves you forward. Believe that small steps, practiced consistently will deliver dramatic results. Life changes take time, but they will happen when you are patient, positive and proud. I encourage you to take the Action necessary because YOU are worth the effort!
In business, recognize that life-long learning in a leader is one of the cornerstones of success. A good leader must continuously take Action to grow and expand their capacity; to keep up with changes in business, their clients and their market. Even a small step is a move forward. Ask yourself: “What Action do I take every day to move my organization forward?” Whether you take actions or not, your clients and your market are moving, and if you want to keep up, you need to keep learning, growing and teaching.
Remember: It’s not what you know; it’s what actions you take with what you know!
